Holiday Stress
When you think of that involved in getting your holiday celebrations in the order, all of mailing holiday cards, decoration of the house, stringing lights, hosting and participating parties, shopping, gift wrapping, and baking and decorating cookies, it is clear how the season may feel overwhelming and stressful. We tend to do many juggling around the holidays, which can create high anxiety at this time. For simplicity, I have listed several suggestions for alternative methods to combat your holiday “to do” list.
Thinking outside the envelope
Consider sending in postcards instead of cards this year. You will have at least one step without envelopes and save on postage, as well. And best of all – very chic holiday cards this season, so you’ll be right in style. Keep it in perspective holidays can be an enormous stress, leading to depression for some. High expectations leave us all vulnerable. I know in my office that reads: “Our world is in proportion to our expectations.” It helps me when I begin to feel I put too much pressure on yourself or someone or a situation.
